About Cherrapunjee

Cherrapunjee is a sub-divisional town in the East Khasi Hills district in the Indian state of Meghalaya. It is the traditional capital of Nongkhlaw hima. Cherrapunjee has often been credited as being the wettest place on Earth, but for now a nearby place Mawsynram, currently holds that distinction. Cherrapunjee still holds the all-time record for the most rainfall in a calendar month and in a year as it received 26,461 millimeters (1,041.8 in; 86.814 ft.) of rain between 1st August 1860 and 31 July 1861.

About Shillong

Shillong is a hill station in the northeastern part of India and the capital of Meghalaya, which means “The Abode of Clouds” and is one of the smallest states in India. Shillong is situated at an average altitude of 4,908 feet (1,496 m) above sea level, with the highest point being Shillong Peak at 6,449 feet (1,966 m). It is said that the rolling hills around the town reminded the European settlers of Scotland. Hence, they would also refer to it as the “Scotland of the East”.

Itinerary:

DAY 01: 15th Aug- GUWAHATI AIRPORT – SHILLONG (130 KMS / 3 hrs drive)

Arrival at Guwahati airport & drive to Shillong. Enroute visit Umium Lake. Check in Hotel. If time permits, visit Ward’s Lake. Overnight at Shillong.

DAY 02: 16th Aug – SHILLONG – CHERRAPUNJEE – SHILLONG (60 KMs / 2 hrs-One way)

Today morning after breakfast, we leave for a day trip to Cherrapunjee. Visit Dwan Syiem view point, Noh kalikai falls, Seven Sister falls, Eco park etc. Later, drive back to Shillong. On the way visit Elephant Falls. In the evening, you can go shopping at the Police Bazar. Overnight in Shillong.

DAY 03: 17th Aug – SHILLONG – DAWKI – MAWLYNNONG – SHILLONG (85 KMs / 3 hrs-One way)

After breakfast, drive from Shillong to Mawlynnong Village. Mawlynnong/Mawlynnong Village located in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, also referred as ‘God’s own garden’ has won the acclaim of being the cleanest village in Asia in 2003. The village known for its cleanliness is located around 90 kms from Shillong and is a community based eco-tourism initiative. The community has made a collective effort to maintain the ambience of a clean village. The village offers picturesque natural beauty, a trek to the Single Decker living root bridge at a neighbouring village Riwai. The village also offers a sight of natural balancing rock, a strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock. Visit Dawki, the Bangladesh Border (Tamabil Border from Bangladesh side). Main attraction is the Umgot river with crystal clear water . You can enjoy along boat ride there, payment will be direct. Evening return back to Shillong. Check in Hotel. Overnight at Shillong.

DAY 04: 18th Aug – SHILLONG – LAITLUM CANYONS – JOWAI – SHILLONG (65 KMs / 2 ½ hrs-One way)

Early morning after breakfast visit Laitlum Canyons, a wonderful spot covered in mist and fog. The view point is one of the most popular and sought after attractions for adventure and nature lovers. Later drive to Jowai. Visit Krang Suri Falls. Later, drive back to Shillong. Overnight at Shillong.

DAY 05: 19th Aug – SHILLONG – GUWAHATI AIRPORT DEPARTURE (130 Kms / 3 Hrs)

After breakfast, transfer to Guwahati airport. TOUR ENDS HERE WITH SWEET MEMORIES.

- At least 50% advance of the total amount for the confirmation and balance 50% 15 days before check-in.
- Bookings made less than 15 days before the check-in date should be accompanied by full payment only.

Cancellation Policy :

- Booking canceled is not refundable.
- Booking canceled between the date of booking & 15 Days before check-in – A credit note(email) worth 90% of the amount paid will be issued which can be used within two months from the cancellation date for future rebooking of the same property except on Public Holidays & Peak Season (Month of December).
- Bookings canceled between 15 days till the day of check-in or No Show: Cancellation Charge is 100% of the Package Cost.

Special Policy under COVID-19 (Only In case there is Lockdown or Travel Ban issued by State or Central Gov)

A credit note worth 100% of the booking amount will be issued, which can be used within two months for future booking on weekends only from the date lockdown or travel Ban is lifted by State or Central Govt.
